I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to YHWH,” and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.


He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.


“‘If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their ancestors, in their trespass which they trespassed against me; and also that because they walked contrary to me,


I also walked in opposition to them and brought them into the land of their enemies, but if their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity,


“If anyone commits a trespass, and sins unwittingly regarding YHWH’s holy things, then he is to bring his trespass offering to YHWH: a ram without defect from the flock, according to your estimation in silver by shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering.


He is to make restitution for that which he has done wrong regarding the holy thing and add a fifth part to it, and give it to the priest. The priest is to make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and he will be forgiven.


When someone is guilty of one of these, they is to confess how they have sinned;


“‘As is the sin offering, so is the trespass offering; there is one law for them. The priest who makes atonement with them is to have it.


But if the person has no close relative to whom restitution may be made for the guilt, the restitution belongs to YHWH and must be given to the priest, in addition to the ram of the atonement, by which atonement is be made for him.


Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, I will give half of my possessions to the poor, Lord! And if I have cheated anyone out of anything, I will pay back four times as much.”


Joshua said to Achan, “My son, please give glory to YHWH, the God of Israel, and make confession to him. Tell me now what you have done! Don’t hide it from me!”
