But if y’all tell me, ‘We trust in YHWH our God,’ isn’t ʜᴇ the one whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has removed, and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, ‘Y’all must worship before this altar in Jerusalem?’


When God helped the Levites who bore the ark of YHWH’s covenant, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.


They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah. He commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of YHWH.


Now therefore, y’all take seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering. My servant Job will pray for y’all, for I will accept him, so that I not deal with y’all according to your* folly. For y’all have not spoken truth about me, as my servant Job has.”


You are to make an altar of earth for me, and sacrifice your burnt offerings on it along with your peace offerings, your sheep, and your cattle. In every place where I record my name I will come to you and I will bless you.


The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to YHWH, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.


They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don’t do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.


During the seven days of the feast he is to prepare a burnt offering to YHWH, seven bulls and seven rams without defect each of the seven days, and a male goat daily for a sin offering.


In the morning, Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal; and he saw from there part of the people.


Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bull and a ram.


Balaam said to Balak, “Build seven altars for me here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me here.”


Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.


“‘On the seventh day: seven bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old without defect;


“Woe to y’all, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Y’all keep shutting humans out of the Empire of Heaven. For y’all do not enter it, but neither to do allow others to enter.


Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, rushed into the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.


Samuel said, “Does YHWH delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as obeying YHWH’s voice? Look! To obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen is better than the fat of rams.
