Jacob arose that night and took his two wives, his two servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of the Jabbok.


Moreover you gave them kingdoms and peoples, which you allotted according to their portions. So they possessed the land of Sihon, even the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.


Sihon king of the Amorites, for ʜɪꜱ lovingkindness endures forever,


Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.


From there they moved out and encamped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness that comes out of the border of the Amorites. The Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.


after he had struck Sihon the king of the Amorites who lived in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan who lived in Ashtaroth, at Edrei.


When y’all came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came out against us to battle, and we struck them.

YHWH said to the children of Israel, “Didn’t I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?


The king of the children of Ammon answered the messengers of Jephthah, “Because Israel took away my land when he came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon even to the Jabbok, and to the Jordan. Now therefore restore that territory again peaceably.”


They said, “What one is there of the tribes of Israel who didn’t come up to YHWH to Mizpah?” But no one came from Jabesh Gilead to the camp to the assembly.
