Y’all’s lamb must be without defect, a male a year old. Y’all are to take it from the sheep or from the goats.


“Come y’all, and let’s settle this,” says YHWH: “Though y’all’s sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.


“The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand. They are knit together. They have come up on my neck. He made my strength fail. The Lord has delivered me into their hands, against whom I am not able to stand.


“‘If his offering is from the flock, from the sheep or from the goats, for a burnt offering, he is to offer a male without defect.


“‘If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, a male without defect must be offered. It must be offered at the door of the Tent of Meeting for its acceptance before YHWH.


As for the living bird, he is to take it, the cedar wood, the scarlet, and the hyssop, and dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water.


YHWH spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,


The priest is to take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the middle of the burning of the heifer.


Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who went to the battle, “This is the statute of the law which YHWH has commanded Moses.


The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the one who is to be born will be holy and will be called the Son of God.


Then the elders of the city closest to the body are to take a heifer of the herd that hasn’t been worked or drawn in the yoke.


For such a high priest was fitting for us: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

“Now y’all are to take and prepare a new cart and two milk cows that have not been yoked. Tie the cows to the cart, and bring their calves home from them.
