Jacob called the name of the place Peniel; for he said, “I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”


As for me, I will see your face in righteousness. I will be satisfied when I awake to see your likeness.


I will turn my ear to a proverb. I will explain my riddle on the harp.


When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.


“You must not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or in the land beneath, or in the water below the land:


YHWH spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. He turned again into the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, didn’t depart from the Tent.


He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of YHWH before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.”


then I will take away my hand, and you will see my back; but my face will not be seen.”


When Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, the skin of his face shone! They were afraid to come near him.


to understand a proverb and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.


With whom will y’all compare God? Or what likeness will y’all set next to ʜɪᴍ?


“To whom will y’all compare me, and consider my equal? Who do y’all think I resemble that we could be compared?


“Son of humanity, pose a riddle, and tell a parable to the house of Israel;


Then I said, “Ah Lord YHWH! They say of me, ‘Isn’t he a speaker of parables?’”


By a prophet YHWH brought Israel up out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.


They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you YHWH are among this people; for you YHWH are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.


When Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with YHWH, he heard his voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; and he spoke to him.


This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet, “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.”


Whoever listens to y’all listens to me, and whoever rejects y’all rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects ʜɪᴍ who sent me.”


No one has ever seen God, but the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, has made ʜɪᴍ known.


No longer do I call y’all servants, for the servant doesn’t know what their lord does. But I have called y’all friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to y’all.


If I hadn’t done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have sin. But now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.


For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I am also fully known.


And we all, with unveiled faces are reflecting the glory of the Lord, being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, according to the Lord, who is the Spirit.


YHWH your God will raise up to you a prophet like me from among you, of your brothers. Y’all must listen to him.


Since then, there has not arisen a prophet in Israel like Moses, whom YHWH knew face to face,


Y’all must guard y’all’s souls carefully, because y’all did not see any form on the day that YHWH spoke to y’all in Horeb from the fire,


“You must not make a idol for yourself in the likeness of anything in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, or in the water below the earth.


The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.


Consequently the one who rejects this doesn’t reject human authority, but God, who gives ʜɪꜱ Holy Spirit to y’all.


He alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no human has seen nor can see, to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.


In various ways and at many times in the past, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets,


Hɪꜱ Son is the radiance of ʜɪꜱ glory, the exact representation of ʜɪꜱ essence, and upholding all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.


especially those who indulge in the corrupt desires of theflesh and despise authority. Daring and arrogant, they are not afraid to insult glorious beings,


Yet in the same way, these people by their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander celestial beings.
