The thing which he did was evil in YHWH’s sight, and he killed him also.


When the mourning was past, David sent and took her home to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased YHWH.


Elijah answered them, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from the sky and consume you and your fifty!” Then God’s fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.


While he was still speaking, another came and said, “The fire of God has fallen from the sky, and has burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”


A fire was kindled in their company. The flame burned up the wicked.


Therefore YHWH heard, and was angry. A fire was kindled against Jacob, anger also went up against Israel,


Fire devoured their young men. Their virgins had no wedding song.


In the morning, y’all will see YHWH’s glory, because ʜᴇ hears y’all’s grumbling against YHWH. And who are we, that y’all would grumble against us?”


Moses said to Aaron, “Tell all the congregation of the children of Israel, ‘Y’all come face YHWH, for ʜᴇ has heard y’all’s grumblings.’”


The light of Israel will be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame; and it will burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.


For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, it is prepared for the king. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. YHWH’s breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.


The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?


Why should a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?


Just as I entered into judgment with y’all’s ancestors in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with y’all,” says Lord YHWH.


Fire came out from before YHWH, and devoured them, and they died before YHWH.


The mountains quake before ʜɪᴍ, and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, yes, the world, and all who dwell in it.


Plague went before him, and pestilence followed his feet.


They set forward from the Mount of YHWH three days’ journey. The ark of YHWH’s covenant went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting place for them.


“You are to say to the people, ‘Y’all must sanctify yourselves* in preparation for tomorrow, and y’all will eat meat. For y’all have wept in the ears of YHWH, saying, “Who will give us meat to eat? For we were better off in Egypt.” Therefore YHWH will give y’all meat, and y’all will eat.


They said, “Has YHWH indeed spoken only with Moses? Hasn’t he spoken also with us?” And YHWH heard it.


All the children of Israel grumbled against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness!


because all those men who have seen my glory and my signs, which I worked in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not listened to my voice;


“How long must I bear with this evil congregation that complains against me? I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel, which they complain against me.


You tell them, ‘As I live, says YHWH, I will do to y’all surely what y’all have spoken in my ears.


Therefore, it is you and all your company who have gathered together against YHWH! Who is Aaron that y’all complain about him?”


Fire came forth from YHWH, and devoured the two hundred fifty men who offered the incense.


The staff of the man whom I choose will sprout. I will make the grumblings of the children of Israel against y’all cease.”


The people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have y’all brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this worthless food!”


Y’all don’t grumble, as some of them did, and perished by the destroying angel.


how they met you on the way when you were faint and weary, and attacked your stragglers who had fallen behind. They did not fear God.


For a fire is kindled in my anger, that burns to the lowest Sheol, devours the earth with its increase, and sets the foundations of the mountains on fire.


At Taberah, at Massah, and at Kibroth Hattaavah y’all continued to provoke YHWH to rage.


For our “God is a consuming fire.”


Look! The wages of the laborers who mowed y’all’s fields, which y’all have kept back by fraud, cry out against y’all. The cries of the harvesters have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies.


These are grumblers and complainers, following after their desires. Their mouths speak proud things, flattering people to gain advantage.
