These two things have happened to you— who will grieve with you?— desolation and destruction, and famine and the sword. How can I comfort you?


For who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will mourn for you? Who will come to ask of your welfare?


Therefore YHWH Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Look! I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.


“We would have healed Babylon, but she cannot be healed. Y’all must forsake her, and each go to his own land; for her judgment reaches to heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.
