For in YHWH’s hand there is a cup, full of foaming wine mixed with spices. Hᴇ pours it out. Indeed the wicked of the earth drink and drink it to its very dregs.


Go into the rock, and hide in the dust, from before the terror of YHWH, and from the glory of ʜɪꜱ majesty.


People will go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of YHWH, and from the glory of ʜɪꜱ majesty, when ʜᴇ arises to shake the earth mightily.


Y’all must pause and be amazed! Y’all must blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; they stagger, but not from beer.


I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they will be drunk on their own blood, as with sweet wine. Then all humanity will know that I, YHWH, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”


I trod down the peoples in my anger and made them drunk in my wrath. I poured their lifeblood out on the earth.”


Y’all must announce in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem saying, ‘Y’all blow the trumpet throughout the land!’ Y’all are to cry aloud and say, ‘Y’all must gather together! Let’s go into the fortified cities!’


I will make her officials, her wise men, her governors, her deputies, and her warriors drunk. They will fall into a forever sleep, and not wake up,” says the King, whose name is YHWH Almighty.


“Why do we sit still? Y’all gather together! Let’s enter into the fortified cities, and let’s be perish there, for YHWH our God has doomed us to perish, and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against YHWH.


The high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, will be destroyed. The thorn and the thistle will grow up over their altars. They will tell the mountains, “Y’all cover us!” and the hills, “Y’all fall on us!”


Though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there; and though they be hidden from my sight in the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and it will bite them.


They will lick the dust like a serpent. Like crawling things of the earth, they will come trembling out of their dens. They will come with fear to YHWH our God, and will be afraid because of you.


For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly like dry stubble.


The one who dashes in pieces has come up against you. Keep the fortress! Watch the way! Strengthen your waist! Fortify your power mightily!


Then they will begin to tell the mountains, ‘Y’all fall on us!’ and tell the hills, ‘Y’all cover us.’


When the men of Israel saw that they were in trouble (for the people were distressed), then the people hid themselves in caves, in thickets, in rocks, in tombs, and in pits.


Both of them revealed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines. “Look!” the Philistines said. “The Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they had hidden themselves!”
