That night, the Angel of YHWH went out and struck one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, there were all the dead bodies!


As he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.


For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt. I am YHWH.


Therefore the Lord, YHWH Almighty, will send leanness among his fat ones; and under his glory a burning will be kindled like a blazing fire.


At evening, sudden terror! Before the morning, they are no more. This is the portion of those who plunder us, and the lot of those who rob us.


For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. Hᴇ will be gracious-gracious when you cry out. When ʜᴇ hears you, ʜᴇ will answer you.


“The Assyrian will fall by the sword, not of man; and the sword not of humankind will devour him. He will flee from the sword, and his young men will become subject to forced labor.

Your Lord YHWH, your God who pleads the cause of his people, says, “Look, I have taken out of your hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath. You will not drink it any more.


In that day the Lord will use a razor, hired in the parts beyond the River (the king of Assyria), to shave the head and the hair of pubic area, and it will also consume the beard.


It will sweep onward into Judah, flooding it and flowing over it, reaching up to its neck. The spread of its wings will fill the breadth of your land, Immanuel!


His sons will wage war, and will assemble a multitude of great forces which will come-come, and overflow, and pass through. They will return and wage war, even to his fortress.


YHWH answered ʜɪꜱ people, “Look, I will send y’all grain, new wine, and oil, and y’all will be satisfied with them; and I will no more make y’all a reproach among the nations.


Look! there on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, Judah! Perform your vows, for the wicked one will no more pass through you. He is utterly cut off.


‘They will be hungry no longer, they will be thirsty no longer. The sun will no longer beat on them, nor any burning heat.’
