He said, “YHWH, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keeps covenant and lovingkindness with your servants who walk before you with all their heart,


For if y’all turn back to YHWH, y’all’s siblings and children will find compassion with those who led them captive, and will come again into this land, because YHWH y’all’s God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn ʜɪꜱ face away from y’all if y’all return to ʜɪᴍ.”


Listen to the petitions of your servant and of your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Yes, hear from your dwelling place, even from heaven; and when you hear, forgive.


and refused to obey. They weren’t mindful of your wonders that you did among them, but hardened their neck, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage. Blessed is the one whom you choose and bring near to live in your courts. We will be filled with the goodness of your house, your holy temple.


God, your righteousness also reaches to the heavens. You have done great things. God, who is like you?


But you, Lord, are a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.


For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, abundant in lovingkindness to all those who call on you.


For who in the skies can be compared to YHWH? Who among the sons of the heavenly beings is like YHWH,


YHWH, God of Armies, who is a mighty one, like you? YHWH, your faithfulness is around you.


Who is like you, YHWH, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?


He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go among us, even though this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”


“Come y’all, and let’s settle this,” says YHWH: “Though y’all’s sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.


The inhabitant won’t say, “I am sick.” The people who dwell therein will be forgiven their iniquity.


Look, it was for my own welfare that I had great anguish, but in love you have delivered my soul from the pit of corruption; for you have cast all my sins behind your back.


With whom will y’all compare God? Or what likeness will y’all set next to ʜɪᴍ?


“To whom will y’all compare me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.


I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins.


I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.


Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to YHWH, and he will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will freely pardon.


You were wearied with the length of your ways; yet you didn’t say, ‘It is in vain.’ You found a reviving of your strength; therefore you weren’t faint.


For I will not contend forever, neither will I always be angry; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls whom I have made.


For as a young man marries a virgin, so your sons will marry you. As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so your God will rejoice over you.


Don’t be furious, YHWH. Don’t remember iniquity forever. Look and see, we beg you, we are all your people.


I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in my people; and the voice of weeping and the voice of crying will be heard in her no more.


Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, ‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says YHWH, ‘I will not look in anger on y’all, for I am merciful,’ says YHWH. ‘I will not stay angry forever.


“‘Will ʜᴇ retain his anger forever? Will ʜᴇ keep it forever?’ This is what you have said, but you have done evil things and have had your way.”

Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.”


I will cleanse them from all their iniquity they have sinned against me. I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned against me and by which they have transgressed against me.


Ebedmelech went out of the king’s house, and spoke to the king, saying,


In those days and in that time,” says YHWH, “search will be made for the iniquity of Israel, but there will be none, also the sins of Judah, but they won’t be found, for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant.


But let the one who glories glory in this, that they have understanding, and know me, that I am YHWH who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for I delight in these things,” says YHWH.


Do I delight-delight in the death of the wicked?” says Lord YHWH, “and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?


Tell them, ‘“As surely as I live,” says Lord YHWH, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Y’all must turn, turn from your* evil ways! Why will y’all die, house of Israel?”’


None of his sins that he has committed will be remembered against him. He has done that which is lawful and right. He will surely live.


The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against ʜɪᴍ.


Y’all must take words with you, and return to YHWH. Y’all must say to him, “Forgive all our sins, and receive us graciously, so we offer bulls as we vowed with our lips.


I will be like the dew to Israel. He will blossom like the lily, and send down his roots like Lebanon.


Then everyone who calls on the name of YHWH will be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as YHWH has said, and among the remnant, those whom YHWH calls.


YHWH says: “For three transgressions of Edom, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast off all pity, and his anger raged continually, and he kept his wrath forever;


YHWH said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “Look, I am setting a plumb line in the among my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.


He said, “Amos, what do you see?” I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then YHWH said to me, “The end has come on my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.


He prayed to YHWH, and said, “Please, YHWH, wasn’t this what I said when I was still in my own country? This is what I tried to prevent by fleeing to Tarshish. For I knew that you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and you relent of doing harm.


I will assemble-assemble all of you, Jacob. I will gather-gather the remnant of Israel. I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the middle of their pasture. They will swarm with people.


and I will make that which was lame a remnant, and that which was cast far off a strong nation: and YHWH will reign over them on Mount Zion from then on, even forever.”


Therefore he will abandon them until the time that she who is in labor gives birth. Then the rest of his brothers will return to the children of Israel.


Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your heritage, who dwell by themselves in a forest. Let them feed in the middle of fertile pasture land, in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.


YHWH, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.


He has not seen iniquity in Jacob. Neither has he seen perverseness in Israel. YHWH his God is with him. The shout of a king is among them.


But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again. He was lost and is found.’”


and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached in his name to all ethnic groups, beginning at Jerusalem.


But how does God answer him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”


“There is no one like God, Jeshurun, who rides on the heavens for your help, in his excellency on the skies.


For judgment is without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.


They put away the foreign gods from among them and served YHWH; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
