For I have chosen him so that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of YHWH, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that YHWH may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.”


After Methuselah’s birth, Enoch walked with God for three hundred years, and he became the father of more sons and daughters.


Nevertheless some men of Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.


But then, Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that YHWH’s wrath didn’t come on them in the days of Hezekiah.


His prayer also, and how God listened to his request, and all his sin and his trespass, and the places in which he built high places and set up the Asherah poles and the engraved images before he humbled himself: are written in the history of Hozai.


He didn’t humble himself before YHWH, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more.


because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God when you heard ʜɪꜱ words against this place and against its inhabitants, and have humbled yourself before me, and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you,” says YHWH.


“You also came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,


I will sing of lovingkindness and justice. To you, YHWH, I will sing praises.


Light dawns in the darkness for the upright, gracious, merciful, and righteous.


Hᴇ has dispersed, ʜᴇ has given to the poor. Hɪꜱ righteousness endures forever. Hɪꜱ horn will be exalted with honor.


All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His offspring is blessed.


But it is good for me to be near to God. I have made Lord YHWH my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.


To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to YHWH than sacrifice.


This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.


YHWH says: “Y’all are to maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is near and my righteousness will soon be revealed.


For the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy, says: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.


For my hand has made all these things, and so all these things came to be,” says YHWH: “but I will look to this person, to the one who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.


He judged the cause of the poor and needy, so all went well. Isn’t this what it means to know me?” says YHWH.


YHWH says: “Y’all are to do what is just and righteous. Y’all must deliver whoever is robbed from the hand of the oppressor. Y’all must not exploit or mistreat the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Y’all must not shed innocent blood in this place.


YHWH says, “Don’t let the wise glory in their wisdom. Don’t let the strong glory in their might. Don’t let the rich glory in their riches.


It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of YHWH.


that you may remember, and be confounded, and never open your mouth any more because of your shame, when I have forgiven you all that you have done,” says Lord YHWH.’”


Again, when I say to the wicked, “You will surely die,” if he turns from his sin and does that which is lawful and right,


Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to abase.


Therefore turn to your God. Keep kindness and justice, and wait continually for your God.


For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.


I also walked in opposition to them and brought them into the land of their enemies, but if their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity,


But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.


YHWH’s voice calls to the city— and wisdom fears your name— “Y’all listen to the rod, and the one who appointed it.


Y’all should seek YHWH, all you humble of the land, who have kept ʜɪꜱ ordinances. Y’all must seek righteousness, and y’all must seek humility. Perhaps y’all will be hidden in the day of YHWH’s anger.


“This is what YHWH Almighty has spoken, ‘Y’all must judge with true judgment and show kindness and compassion to everyone.


“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Empire of Heaven.


Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.


but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, and it will not be taken away from her.”


But woe to y’all Pharisees! For y’all tithe mint and rue and every kind of herb, but y’all skip past justice and the love of God. Y’all should have done these things without neglecting the others.


But Jesus replied, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator between y’all?”


“Therefore y’all are to be merciful, just as your* Father is also merciful.


But if I do what I don’t intend, then I agree that law is excellent.


But who are you, a human, to contradict God? Does something molded say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this?”


For how do you know, woman, whether you will save your man? Or how do you know, man, whether you will save your woman?


Instead, y’all are to be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave y’all.


You are to obey the voice of YHWH your God, and follow ʜɪꜱ commandments and statutes, which I command you today.”


See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and evil.


Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, y’all must clothe yourselves* with compassionate affection, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance;


May our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,


But are you willing to learn, O foolish human, that faith apart from works is useless?


“Therefore y’all are to fear YHWH and worship ʜɪᴍ in sincerity and in truth. Y’all must turn from the gods your* ancestors worshiped beyond the River in Egypt and worship YHWH.


Finally, all y’all should be one-minded and sympathetic, having the affection of siblings and being compassionate and humble.


As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against YHWH by ceasing to pray for y’all. I will instruct y’all in the good and the right way.


Samuel said, “Does YHWH delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as obeying YHWH’s voice? Look! To obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen is better than the fat of rams.
