Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John.


But Jesus replied to him, “Permit it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John allowed him.


How could this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?


For from his fullness we all have received grace upon grace.


Now I don’t want y’all to be unaware, siblings, that I often planned to come to y’all (but was hindered so far), that I might have some fruit among you*, just as I had among the rest of the ethnic groups.


for all have sinned and fail to meet the glory of God,


whom God sent to be an atoning sacrifice through faith in his blood. This was a demonstration of ʜɪꜱ righteousness, through the restraint of God in passing over sins already committed


But the Scripture locked up everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.


And because y’all are children, God sent the Spirit of ʜɪꜱ Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”


The former priests were greater in number because death hindered them from continuing,
