I gave my back to those who beat me, and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair. I didn’t hide my face from shame and spitting.


But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.


and will hand him over to the ethnic groups to be mocked, flogged, and crucified. And on the third day, he will be raised up.”


They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”


Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them. Then after having Jesus flogged, he handed him over to be crucified.


Therefore, I will punish him and then release him.”


Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged.


Finally he handed him over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.


“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. “By his wounds, y’all were healed.”
