My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I come and appear before God?


Whoever is an accomplice of a thief is an enemy of his own soul. He takes an oath, but dares not testify.


He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth. As a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he didn’t open his mouth.


Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, “Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.


“‘If anyone sins, in that he hears a public adjuration to testify, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn’t report it, then he will bear his iniquity.


Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”


The high priest stood up and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that these are testifying against you?”


When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he gave no answer.


He gave him no answer, not even one word, so the governor marveled greatly.

The tempter approached and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.”


But he kept silent and did not answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”


I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”


Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”


The Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

He went back into the Praetorium and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.


but these have been written so that y’all may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing y’all may have life in his name.


We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”


Then they said to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to y’all from the beginning.


For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we preached among y’all— Silvanus, Timothy, and I—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it is always “Yes.”


When he was insulted, he did not retaliate. When he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he committed himself to ʜɪᴍ who judges righteously.


The men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul had adjured the people, saying, “Cursed is the man who eats any food until it is evening, and I am avenged of my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.


When the people had come to the forest, they saw honey dripping, but no one put his hand to his mouth, because they feared the oath.


Then one of the people answered, and said, “Your father commanded-commanded the people with an oath, saying, ‘Cursed is the man who eats food today.’” So the people were faint.
