Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, “Y’all sit here while I go over there and pray.”


But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. Then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.


Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he got up, departed, and went to a deserted place where he prayed.


After leaving them, he went up the mountain to pray.


Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized, and while he was praying, the sky was opened,


But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.


During those days, Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and he spent the whole night in prayer to God.


Once when Jesus was praying in private and the disciples were near him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”


About eight days after they discussed this, Jesus took Peter, John, and James with him and went up onto the mountain to pray.


But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the deacon-work of the word.”
