The thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight on account of his son.


It will happen that when anyone still prophesies, then his father and his mother who bore him will tell him, ‘You must die, because you speak lies in the name of YHWH;’ and his father and his mother who bore him will stab him when he prophesies.


Jesus replied to him, “‘You are to love the Lord [YHWH] your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’


“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.


“If anyone comes to me and doesn’t hate their own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.


But those who are considered worthy to take part in that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.


But y’all be watchful at all times, praying that y’all may be counted worthy to escape all that is about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Humanity.”


that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. Whoever doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent him.


He said of his father, and of his mother, ‘I have not seen him.’ He didn’t acknowledge his brothers, nor did he know his own children; for they have observed your word, and keep your covenant.
