Someone went in and told his lord, saying, “The girl who is from the land of Israel said this.”


Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.


There were also women watching from afar. Among them were Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome.


Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.


Then they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. [Many early manuscripts do not include the text of verses 9-20.]


Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who were telling these things to the apostles.
