The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.


He answered, “The one who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.


While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, arrived with a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and elders of the people.


They were sorrowful, and one by one they said to him, “Surely not I?”


For the Son of Humanity will go just as it is written about him, but woe to that human by whom the Son of Humanity is betrayed! It would be more excellent for that human if they had not been born.”


Immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, arrived. With him was a crowd with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests, scribes, and elders.


While he was still speaking, suddenly a crowd appeared with the man called Judas, one of the twelve, leading them. He came near Jesus to kiss him,


Then Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it.” Then he dipped the piece of bread and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.


Now he spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, for he was the one from the twelve who would betray him.
