A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.


This is the account of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.


All the crowds were amazed, saying, “Can this be the Son of David?”


A Canaanite woman came out from that region and cried out, “Have mercy on me, Lord, son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”


and came and lived in a city called Nazareth. This fulfilled what was spoken through the prophets that he will be called a Nazarene.


Two blind men were sitting by the road, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”


The crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”


The crowds who went in front of him and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord [YHWH]! Hosanna in the highest!”


When he had gone out onto the porch, another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”


As Jesus passed by from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”


“What do we have to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”


Then he went to Nazareth where he had been brought up. As was his custom, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day. He stood up to read,


Nathanael replied, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”


Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. It read, “jesus of nazareth, the king of the jews.”


Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “The Christ cannot come from Galilee, can he?


They replied, “Are you also from Galilee? Search, and you will see that no prophet has come from Galilee.”


For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”


I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give this testimony to y’all for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star.”
