Your eyes will see the king in his beauty. They will see a distant land.


For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no good looks or majesty. When we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.


He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light.


After these things he appeared in another form to two of them as they were walking in the country.


Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized, and while he was praying, the sky was opened,


But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.


During those days, Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and he spent the whole night in prayer to God.


Once when Jesus was praying in private and the disciples were near him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”


Two men, Moses and Elijah, began talking with him.


The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.


All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.


Then I saw a great white throne and one seated on it. The earth and the heaven fled from his face, no place was found for them.
