After he had sent the crowds away, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.


Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, “Y’all sit here while I go over there and pray.”


Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”


Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized, and while he was praying, the sky was opened,


During those days, Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and he spent the whole night in prayer to God.


They answered, “Some say ‘John the Baptizer,’ but others, ‘Elijah,’ and still others, that one of the ancient prophets has risen again.”


About eight days after they discussed this, Jesus took Peter, John, and James with him and went up onto the mountain to pray.


As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothing became white like lightening.
