17 One day, while he was teaching, some Pharisees and teachers of the law who had come from every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem, were sitting nearby. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal.

the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news preached to them.


Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,


Instead, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer openly enter into a city, but stayed outside in lonely places. Still people came to him from everywhere.


they will pick up snakes, and if they drink poison, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.”


The scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and, “By the prince of the demons he casts out the demons.”


Jesus immediately perceived in himself that power from him had gone out. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”


Then Pharisees and some of the scribes who came from Jerusalem gathered around him.


The Pharisees and scribes were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”


After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.


The scribes and the Pharisees began to think to themselves, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”


But the Pharisees and their scribes complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”


All the crowd was trying to touch him, because power was coming out of him and healing them all.


But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God for them, because they had not been baptized by John.


But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, for I knew that power has gone out from me.”


Jesus answered him, “You are the teacher of Israel, and yet you don’t understand these things?


But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that their deeds may be revealed as being done in God.”


God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,


while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”


But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and gave orders to put the men outside for a short time.
