Satan answered YHWH, and said, “Skin for skin. Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.


For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desires. He blesses the greedy and condemns YHWH.


Better is a little that the righteous has, than the abundance of many wicked.


Y’all must not trust in oppression. Y’all must not vainly hope in robbery. If riches increase, y’all must not set your heart on them.


Better is little, with the fear of YHWH, than great treasure with trouble.


How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.


A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment. One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.


“For from their least even to their greatest, everyone is given to covetousness. From the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.


They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don’t do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.


They covet fields and seize them, and houses, then take them away. They oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.


Woe to him who gets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!


adultery, greed, evil, deceit, sensuality, envious eyes, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.


Then he told them this parable, “The ground of a certain rich man was very productive.


The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all this and scoffed at him.


“But y’all be careful, or y’all’s hearts will be weighed down with intoxication, drunkenness, and the worries of this life, and that day will come down on y’all unexpectedly like a trap.


The seed that fell among the thorns are those who have heard, but as they go on their way, they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, so they bring no fruit to maturity.


nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit the Empire of God.


Therefore, y’all must put to death the elements of your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, passions, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.


Humans will be self-lovers and money-lovers, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,


Ensure that your life is free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for ʜᴇ has said, “I will never leave you, neither will I forsake you.”


When I saw among the plunder a beautiful Babylonian robe, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, then I coveted them and took them. Look, they are hidden in the ground in the middle of my tent, with the silver under it.”


They have eyes full of adultery and never-ending sin, seducing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed—accursed children!


In greed, they will exploit y’all with deceptive words. Their judgement from of old is not idle, and their destruction is not sleeping.
