The Syrians in front, and the Philistines behind; and they will devour Israel with open mouth. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.


Then they said, “Come, y’all! Let’s devise plans against Jeremiah, for the law won’t be lost from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, y’all, and let’s strike him with the tongue, and let’s not give heed to any of his words.”


For I have heard the defaming of many: “Terror on every side! Y’all denounce him, and we will denounce him!” say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall. “Perhaps he will be deceived, and we will deceived him, and we will take our revenge on him.”


Woe to y’all legal experts! For y’all have taken away the key of knowledge. Y’all have not entered in, and y’all hindered those who were going in.”

Some of the Sadducees, who deny that there is a resurrection, came and questioned him,


“Seriously, I myself was convinced that I had to do many things hostile to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.


It doesn’t behave inappropriately, it isn’t self-seeking, it isn’t easily provoked, it doesn’t count up wrongs.


So we urged Titus, that just as he had begun, he would also complete this act of grace for y’all.
