the priest is to examine the infection in the skin of the body. If the hair in the infection has turned white, and the appearance of the infection is deeper than the body’s skin, it is the infection of leprosy; so the priest is to examine the person and pronounce them unclean.


“‘Or if anyone touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean animal, or the carcass of unclean livestock, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, then he will be guilty.


“‘Or if anyone swears rashly with their lips to do evil or to do good—whatever it is that a person might utter rashly with an oath, and it is hidden from him—when they knows of it, then they will be guilty of one of these.


When anyone touches any unclean thing, the uncleanness of man, or an unclean animal, or any unclean abomination, and eats some of the meat of the sacrifice of peace offerings which belong to YHWH, that soul will be cut off from his people.’”


“Whatever the unclean person touches will be unclean, and the soul that touches it will be unclean until evening.”
