“I cry out ‘Violence!’ but I am not heard. I cry for help, but there is no justice.


I cry to you, and you do not answer me. I stand up, and you gaze at me.


My God, I cry by day, but you don’t answer; by night, I am not silent.


YHWH God of Armies, how long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?


“You have covered us with anger and pursued us. You have killed. You have not pitied.


You have covered yourself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.


YHWH, how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you “Violence!” and will you not save?


About three in the afternoon, Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” (which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).


For everyone who asks, receives. The one who seeks, finds. And to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
