Joshua 8:33 - Y'all Version Bible

33 All Israel, with their elders, officers, and judges, stood on both sides of the ark before the Levitical priests, who carried the ark of YHWH’s covenant, the foreigner as well as the native; half of them in front of Mount Gerizim, and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, as Moses the servant of YHWH had commanded at the first, that they should bless the people of Israel.

They included both immigrants and full citizens. Half stood facing Mount Gerizim and half stood facing Mount Ebal. This was exactly what Moses the LORD’s servant had initially commanded for the blessing of the Israelite people.

For the assembly is have one statute for y’all and for the foreigner who lives among y’all, a permanent statute throughout y’all’s generations. The foreigner and y’all and will be the same before YHWH.


There is to be one law and one ordinance for y’all and for foreigner who lives with y’all.’”


Y’all are to have one law for anyone who sins unintentionally, for the native-born among the children of Israel and the foreigner who lives among them.==


Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, but y’all Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.”


It will happen, when YHWH your God brings you into the land that you go to possess, that you will set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal.


Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and the foreigners who are within your gates, that they may hear, learn, fear YHWH y’all’s God, and observe to do all the words of this law,


Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of YHWH’s covenant, saying,


Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of YHWH’s covenant, and to all the elders of Israel.


Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges and for their officers, and said to them, “I am old and well advanced in years.


Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders, heads, judges, and officers of Israel, and they presented themselves before God.


So when the people left their tents to cross over the Jordan, the priests who carried the ark of the covenant went ahead of the people,


and they commanded the people, saying, “When y’all see the ark of the covenant of YHWH y’all’s God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, y’all are to set out from y’all’s place and follow it.


Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Y’all take up the ark of the covenant and cross over ahead the people.” They took up the ark of the covenant and went ahead the people.


For the priests who bore the ark stood in the middle of the Jordan until everything was finished that YHWH commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua; and the people hurried and passed over.


When the priests who carried the ark of YHWH’s covenant came up out of the middle of the Jordan, and the soles of the their feet had been pulled out onto the dry ground, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place, and went over all its banks as before.


Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, “Y’all pick up the ark of the covenant, and have seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark of YHWH.”
