When the days of their feasting had run their course, Job sent for them and sanctified them. He rose up early in the morning and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned, and renounced God in their hearts.” Job did so continually.


You have redeemed your people with your arm, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.


For you are great, and do wondrous things. You are God alone.


Y’all gather the people. Y’all sanctify the assembly. Y’all assemble the elders. Y’all gather the children, and those who nurse from breasts. Let the bridegroom go out of his room, and the bride out of her chamber.


Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what YHWH spoke of, saying, ‘I will show myself holy to those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” Aaron held his peace.


“‘Y’all are to sanctify yourselves* and be holy, because I am YHWH y’all’s God.


The people went around, gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiled it in pots, and made cakes of it. Its taste was like the taste of fresh oil.


For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves may also be sanctified in truth.


When the soles of the feet of the priests who carry the ark of YHWH, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan will be cut off. The waters coming downstream will stand in one heap.”

You must get up and consecrate the people. Say, ‘Y’all must consecrate yourselves* for tomorrow, for YHWH, the God of Israel, says, “There are devoted things among y’all, Israel. Y’all cannot stand before y’all’s enemies until y’all have removed the devoted thing from among y’all.”


He said, “Yes, in Peace. I have come to sacrifice to YHWH. Y’all must consecrate yourselves and come with me to the sacrifice.” He sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
