About three months later, Judah was told, “Tamar, your daughter-in-law, has been a prostitute. Indeed, now she is with child by prostitution.” Judah said, “Y’all bring her out and let her be burned.”


We said to him, ‘We are honest men. We are no spies.


But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think that David honors your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Hasn’t David sent his servants to you to search the city, to spy it out, and to overthrow it?”


Absalom’s servants came to the woman to the house; and they said, “Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?” The woman said to them, “They have gone over the brook of water.” When they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.


But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, “Do you think that David honors your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Haven’t his servants come to you to search, to overthrow, and to spy out the land?”


For the evil person is spared from the day of calamity, that they are led out to the day of wrath.


“You are to bring the one who cursed out of the camp and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head. Then have all the assembly stone him.


Then Pilate came out again and said to them, “Look, I am bringing him out to y’all so that y’all will know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”


After arresting him, he put him in prison and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover.


The night before Herod was to bring him out for trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries in front of the door were guarding the prison.


They did so, and brought those five kings out of the cave to him: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.


The king of Jericho was told, “Look, men of the children of Israel came in here tonight to spy out the land.”


The woman took the two men and hid them. Then she said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I didn’t know where they came from.


He said to her, “Stand in the door of the tent, and if any man comes and inquires of you, and says, ‘Is there any man here?’ you must say, ‘No.’”
