But the men who went up with him said, “We aren’t able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”


All the congregation raised their voice in a loud cry, and the people wept that night.


But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him and has followed me fully, I will bring him into the land which he entered. His descendants will possess it.


except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun, because they have followed YHWH completely.’


Where can we go? Our brothers have made our heart melt, saying, ‘The people are greater and taller than we are. The cities are great and fortified up to the sky. We have even seen the sons of the Anakim there!’”

Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he followed YHWH, the God of Israel wholeheartedly.


These are the ones who had not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were redeemed by Jesus from among humans, the first fruits to God and to the Lamb.
