He said, “While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who knows whether YHWH will not be gracious to me, that the child may live?’


“You go and gather together all the Jews who are present in Susa, and y’all fast for me. Y’all must not eat nor drink three days, night or day. I and my maidens will also fast the same way. Then I will go in to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish.”


Then they cried to YHWH in their trouble, and ʜᴇ delivered them out of their distresses.


When ʜᴇ killed them, then they inquired after ʜɪᴍ. They returned and sought God earnestly.


Why do y’all crush my people, and grind the face of the poor?” says the Lord, YHWH Almighty.


“What do y’all mean by using this proverb about the land of Israel, saying, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’?


YHWH thunders ʜɪꜱ voice before ʜɪꜱ army, for ʜɪꜱ forces are very great; for ʜᴇ is strong who obeys ʜɪꜱ command; for the day of YHWH is great and very awesome, and who can endure it?


Y’all are to hate evil and love good, and y’all must establish justice in the courts. It may be that YHWH, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”


But let them be covered with sackcloth, both people and animals, and let them call out urgently to God. Let them turn away from their evil way and from the violence in their hands.


Who knows? God may turn and relent, and turn away from his fierce anger, so that we will not perish.”


Then Paul replied, “What are y’all doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”


Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for y’all to awaken from sleep, for our salvation is now nearer than when we started believing.


Therefore he says, “Awake, you sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
