“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” says YHWH.


“Son of humanity, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and tell them, even the shepherds, ‘Lord YHWH says: “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep?


Her princes within her are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They leave nothing until the next day.


For indeed, I am about to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not visit those who are cut off, neither will seek those who are scattered, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the meat of the fat sheep, and will tear their hoofs in pieces.


“Truly, I tell y’all, the one who doesn’t enter the sheep fold through the door, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber.


My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.


They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”


A while back Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and a about four hundred men joined him. But he was killed, and all those who followed him were dispersed, and it came to nothing.
