Y’all pay attention, you* senseless people! Fools! When will y’all be wise?


Why is there money in the hand of a fool, if they have no intention of acquiring wisdom?


When its boughs are withered, they will be broken off. The women will come and set them on fire, for they are a people of no understanding. Therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them, and he who formed them will show them no favor.


Bring out the blind people who have eyes, and the deaf who have ears.


They don’t know, neither do they consider, for he has shut their eyes, that they can’t see, and their hearts, that they can’t understand.


But they are together brutish and foolish, instructed by idols made of wood.


“For my people are foolish. They don’t know me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are skillful in doing evil, but they don’t know how to do good.”


“Y’all are to declare this in the house of Jacob and proclaim* it in Judah, saying,


Then I said, “Surely these are poor. They are foolish; for they don’t know YHWH’s way, nor the law of their God.


To whom should I speak and testify, that they may hear? Look, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Indeed, the word of YHWH has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.


Now, because y’all have done all these things,” says YHWH, “and I spoke to y’all, rising up early and speaking, but y’all didn’t listen; and I called y’all, but you* didn’t answer.


Yes, the stork in the sky knows her appointed times. The turtledove, the swallow, and the crane observe the time of their coming, but my people don’t know YHWH’s law.


“Son of humanity, you live among a rebellious house, who have eyes to see, and don’t see, who have ears to hear, and don’t hear; for they are a rebellious house.


“Ephraim is like an easily deceived dove, without understanding. They call to Egypt. They go to Assyria.


But they refused to listen, and turned their backs, and stopped their ears, that they might not hear.


so that ‘seeing they may see but not perceive, and hearing they may hear but not understand, lest perhaps they should turn again, and their sins should be forgiven them.’”


Having eyes, don’t y’all see? Having ears, don’t y’all hear? Don’t y’all remember


“Hᴇ has blinded their eyes and ʜᴇ hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”


saying, ‘Go to these people and say, Y’all will keep on listening, but y’all won’t ever understand. Y’all will keep on looking but y’all won’t ever see.


For since the creation of the world ʜɪꜱ invisible attributes—ʜɪꜱ everlasting power and divinity—have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that people are without excuse.


According as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.”


Your eyes have seen the great trials, the signs and great wonders.


But to this day YHWH has not given y’all a heart to know, eyes to see, or ears to hear.


Is this the way y’all repay YHWH, y’all foolish and unwise people? Isn’t ʜᴇ your father who has bought you? Hᴇ has made you and established you.
