As often as it passes through, it will seize y’all. For it will pass through, morning by morning and day and by night. And it will be nothing but terror to understand the message.”


“Y’all are to listen to the words of this covenant, and speak to the people of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;


But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, we said, ‘Y’all come! Let’s go to Jerusalem to get away from the Chaldean and Aramean army. So we have dwelt in Jerusalem.’”


“Y’all are to declare this in the house of Jacob and proclaim* it in Judah, saying,


“Y’all must flee for safety, children of Benjamin, from the middle of Jerusalem! Y’all are to blow the trumpet in Tekoa and raise up a signal on Beth Haccherem, for disaster looks down from the north with a great destruction.


“Why do we sit still? Y’all gather together! Let’s enter into the fortified cities, and let’s be perish there, for YHWH our God has doomed us to perish, and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against YHWH.


Who is wise enough to understand this? Who has the mouth of YHWH has spoken can declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?


They have blown the trumpet, and have made all ready; but no one goes to the battle, for my wrath is on all its multitude.


“Put the trumpet to your lips! Something like an eagle is over the house of YHWH, because they have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law.


Y’all blow the ram’s horn in Zion, and y’all sound an alarm in my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of YHWH comes, for it is close at hand:


Does the trumpet alarm sound in a city, without the people being afraid? Does evil happen to a city, and YHWH hasn’t done it?


The lion has roared. Who will not fear? Lord YHWH has spoken. Who can but prophesy?


“Make two trumpets of hammered silver make to call the congregation and for having the camps begin journeying.


When they blow them, the whole congregation is to gather themselves to you at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.


When Joshua and the children of Israel had finished killing them with a very great slaughter until they were consumed, and the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities,
