So YHWH turned away from the evil which ʜᴇ said ʜᴇ would do to ʜɪꜱ people.


If y’all are willing and obedient, y’all will eat the good things of the land.


Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to YHWH, and he will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will freely pardon.


which I commanded y’all’s ancestors in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace,’ saying, ‘Y’all must listen to my voice and do all that I command y’all, so that y’all will be my people, and I will be y’all’s God.


“Now therefore, you are to speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘YHWH says: “Look! I will form a disaster for y’all, and devise a plan against y’all. Every one of y’all should return from your evil way now, and reform your* ways and actions.”’


if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to them.


Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Didn’t he fear YHWH, and entreat the favor of YHWH, and YHWH relented from the disaster that ʜᴇ had pronounced against them? But we are committing great disaster on own souls!”


It may be they will listen, and every man turn from his evil way, that I may relent from the evil which I intend to do to them because of the evil of their doings.’”


Again and again, I have sent all my servants the prophets to y’all, saying, ‘Every one of y’all must turn away your* evil way, amend your* deeds, and stop following after other gods to serve them. Then y’all will dwell in the land which I have given to y’all and to y’all’s ancestors.’ But y’all have not turned your* ear and obeyed me.


Perhaps when the house of Judah hears all the disaster that I intend to bring on them, they may each turn from their evil way; so that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.”


But Jeremiah said, “They won’t hand you over. Please obey YHWH’s voice, what I am saying to you, so it will be well with you, and your life be spared.


‘If y’all will stay in this land, then I will build y’all up and not tear y’all down. I will plant y’all and not uproot y’all up. For I am filled with sorry over the disaster that I have brought on y’all.


Tell them, ‘“As surely as I live,” says Lord YHWH, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Y’all must turn, turn from your* evil ways! Why will y’all die, house of Israel?”’


Who knows? Hᴇ may turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal offering and a drink offering to YHWH, y’all’s God.


Who knows? God may turn and relent, and turn away from his fierce anger, so that we will not perish.”


He prayed to YHWH, and said, “Please, YHWH, wasn’t this what I said when I was still in my own country? This is what I tried to prevent by fleeing to Tarshish. For I knew that you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and you relent of doing harm.


For YHWH will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, that there is no one remaining, shut up or left at large.


and having been made perfect, he became author of eternal salvation for all who obey him,


When YHWH raised up judges for them, then YHWH was with the judge, and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for it grieved YHWH because of their groaning by reason of those who oppressed them and troubled them.
