As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so YHWH surrounds ʜɪꜱ people from this time forward and forever more.


They took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.


You are to tell your son in that day, saying, ‘It is because of that which YHWH did for me when I came out of Egypt.’


The burden of the valley of vision. What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops?


My mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures for a plunder, and your high places, because of sin, throughout all your borders.


I myself will fight against y’all with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, in anger, wrath, and intense indignation.


As for your terror, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill, though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there,” says YHWH.


“See, I am against you, you proud one,” says the Lord, YHWH Almighty; “for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.


“Look! I am against you, destroying mountain,” says YHWH, “which destroys all the earth. I will stretch out my hand on you, roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burned mountain.


Y’all must not trust in words of deceptive and say, ‘This is the temple of YHWH, the temple of YHWH, the temple of YHWH.’


The kings of the earth didn’t believe, neither did all the inhabitants of the world, that the adversary and the enemy would enter into the gates of Jerusalem.


“‘Therefore Lord YHWH says: “Because y’all have spoken falsehood and seen lies, therefore I am against y’all,” says Lord YHWH.


Tell the land of Israel, ‘This is what YHWH says: “I am against you, and will draw my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked.


This is what Lord YHWH says: “Look, I am against the shepherds. I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep. The shepherds won’t feed themselves any more. I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.”


therefore Lord YHWH says: ‘Look, I myself am against you. And I will execute judgments among you in the sight of the nations.


Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money; yet they lean on YHWH, and say, “Isn’t YHWH among us? No disaster will come on us.”


“I am against you!” declares YHWH Almighty. “I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions; and I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers will no longer be heard.”
