In the prophets of Jerusalem I have also seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness. They have all become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.”


Now y’all must reform your* ways and your* deeds, and obey the voice of YHWH y’all’s God. Then YHWH will relent from the disaster ʜᴇ has pronounced against y’all.


My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart! My heart trembles within me. I can’t hold my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

The generation to come—y’all’s children who will rise up after y’all, and the foreigner who will come from a far land—will say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the diseases YHWH has inflicted on it,


that all of its land is sulfur, salt, and burning, that it is not sown, doesn’t produce, nor does any grass grow in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which YHWH overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath.


and if ʜᴇ condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction, burning them down to ashes, and making them an example to those who would live in an ungodly way;


Similarly, Sodom, Gomorrah, and the cities around them, gave themselves over to sexual immorality and pursued flesh in unnatural ways. They are displayed as an example by suffering the punishment of eternal fire.
