For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.


This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and have gone after other gods to serve them and to worship them, will even be as this undergarment, which is profitable for nothing.


After many days, YHWH said to me, “Get up and go to the Euphrates, and take the undergarment from there, which I commanded you to hide there.”


Then the word of YHWH came to me, saying,


They have all turned away. They have together become useless. There is no one who does good, no, not even one.”


Formerly, he was useless to you, but now he is useful both to you and to me.
