These are those who went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all who lived in the valleys, both toward the east and toward the west.


Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterfalls. All your waves and your billows have swept over me.


If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small.


My son, don’t despise YHWH’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction;


“Therefore YHWH says concerning the men of Anathoth, who seek your life, saying, ‘You must not prophesy in the name of YHWH, that you not die by our hand’—


When Jeremiah had finished speaking all that YHWH had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, “You must die-die!


The king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to arrest Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet, but YHWH hid them.


“Look, he will come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will suddenly make them run away from it, and whoever is chosen, I will appoint him over it. For who is like me? Who will appoint me a time? Who is the shepherd who will stand before me?”

and when those who carried the ark had come to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark had dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest),


Beloved, y’all shouldn’t be surprised by the fiery trial that has come to test y’all, as though a strange thing were happening to you*.
