Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man? God’s lovingkindness endures continually.


“Here is the man who didn’t make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”


As clouds and wind without rain, so is he who boasts of gifts deceptively.


Don’t boast about tomorrow; for you don’t know what a day may bring.


For you have trusted in your wickedness. You have said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and your knowledge has perverted you. You have said in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me.’


Y’all’s boasting is not excellent. Don’t y’all know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?


But if y’all have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your* heart, y’all must not boast or lie against the truth.


For all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life—isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.


However much she glorified herself and lived sensuously, y’all are to give her that much torture and grief because she says in her heart, ‘I am seated as a queen, and am no widow, and will never see grief.’
