Then he said to them, “Y’all are to go and eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to those who have nothing prepared, for today is holy to our Lord. Y’all must not grieve, for the joy of YHWH is y’all’s strength.”


for you will forget your misery. You will remember it like waters that have passed away.


This also will be my salvation, that a godless person may not come before ʜɪᴍ.


For ʜɪꜱ anger lasts only for a moment. Hɪꜱ favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning.


Increase my honor and comfort me again.


Turn us, God of our salvation, and cause your indignation toward us to cease.


Show me a sign of your goodness, that those who hate me may see it, and be shamed, because you, YHWH, have helped me, and comforted me.


I will give thanks to YHWH with my whole heart. I will tell of all your marvelous works.


For in a very little while, my indignation against you will be completed, and my anger will be directed to his destruction.”


Nothing will remain but to bow down with the prisoners, and fall among the slain. For all this ʜɪꜱ anger is not turned away, but ʜɪꜱ hand is still stretched out.


There will be a highway for the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, like there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.


It will happen in the day that YHWH will give you rest from your sorrow, from your trouble, and from the hard service in which you were made to serve,


The prideful eyes of humanity will be brought low, human arrogance will be bowed down, and YHWH alone will be exalted in that day.


YHWH, you are my God. I will exalt you! I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago, in complete faithfulness and truth.


It will be said in that day, “Look, this is our God! We have waited for ʜɪᴍ, and ʜᴇ will save us! This is YHWH! We have waited for ʜɪᴍ. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!”


In that day, this song will be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city. God appoints salvation for walls and bulwarks.


Then YHWH’s ransomed ones will return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”


Y’all sing, O heavens, and be joyful, O earth! Break out into singing, mountains! For YHWH has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.


For YHWH has comforted Zion. He has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of YHWH. Joy and gladness will be found in them, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.


“For a small moment I have forsaken you, but I will gather you with great mercies.


In overflowing wrath I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting lovingkindness I will have mercy on you,” says YHWH your Redeemer.


“For this is like the waters of Noah to me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah will no more go over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.


“Foreigners will build up your walls, and their kings will serve you; for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor I have had mercy on you.


I will rejoice-rejoice in YHWH! My soul will be joyful in my God, for ʜᴇ has clothed me with the garments of salvation. Hᴇ has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.


You meet the one who rejoices and does righteousness, those who remember you in your ways. Look, you were angry, and we sinned. We have been in sin for a long time. How can we be saved?


But y’all be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create; For I will create Jerusalem to be a delight, and her people a joy.


As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort y’all. Y’all will be comforted in Jerusalem.”


Thanksgiving will proceed out of them with the voice of those who make merry. I will multiply them, and they will not be few; I will also glorify them, and they will not be small.


Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, the young men and the old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.


“How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within me, my compassion is aroused.


“Y’all come on! Let’s return to YHWH. For ʜᴇ has torn us to pieces, but ʜᴇ will heal us. Hᴇ has injured us, but ʜᴇ will bind up our wounds.


Therefore YHWH says: “I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy. My house will be rebuilt in it,” says YHWH Almighty, “and a measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.”’


In that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, “HOLY TO YHWH”; and the pots in the house of YHWH will be like the bowls before the altar.


YHWH will be King over all the earth. In that day YHWH will be one, and his name one.


But now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days,” says YHWH Almighty.


YHWH Almighty says: “The fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh, and tenth months will become feasts of joy, gladness, and cheer for the house of Judah. Therefore y’all must love truth and peace.”


For if their rejection brings the reconciliation of the world, what would their acceptance be, but life from the dead?
