The money for the trespass offerings and the money for the sin offerings was not brought into the house of YHWH. It was the priests’.


The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up their soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.


To you, YHWH, I lift up my soul.


Yes, the dogs are greedy. They can never have enough. They are shepherds who can’t understand. They have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, from every quarter.


“Son of humanity, these men have set up idols in their heart and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face. Should I let them inquire of me at all?


“‘“For everyone from the house of Israel, andy any of the foreigner who live in Israel, who separates themselves from me and sets up idols in their heart, and puts the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face, and comes to the prophet to inquire of me, I YHWH will answer them by myself.


Y’all have plowed wickedness. Y’all have reaped iniquity. Y’all have eaten the fruit of lies, because you trusted in your way, in the multitude of your mighty warriors.


Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich. I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”


Israel, return to YHWH your God; for you have fallen because of your sin.


The anointed priest that will be in his place from among his sons will offer it. By a permanent statute, it must be wholly burned to YHWH.


The priest who offers it for sin is to eat it. It must be eaten in a holy place, in the court of the Tent of Meeting.


Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money; yet they lean on YHWH, and say, “Isn’t YHWH among us? No disaster will come on us.”


“Oh that there were one of y’all who would shut the temple doors, so that y’all would not uselessly kindle fire on my altar! I am not pleased with y’all,” says YHWH Almighty, “nor will I accept an offering from your* hand.


For such people don’t serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly. By their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.


It is necessary to shut their mouths because they are disrupting entire households by teaching things they shouldn’t for dishonest gain.


In greed, they will exploit y’all with deceptive words. Their judgement from of old is not idle, and their destruction is not sleeping.


Why do y’all kick at my sacrifice and at my offering, which I have commanded in my dwelling, and honor your sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel my people?’
