This was my situation: in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep fled from my eyes.


For YHWH knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.


When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, you knew my route. On the path in which I walk, they have hidden a snare for me.


I will be glad and rejoice in your lovingkindness, for you have seen my affliction. You have known my soul in adversities.


God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.


God saw the children of Israel, and God was concerned about them.


“Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, ‘YHWH says, “I remember for you the kindness of your youth, your love as a bride, how you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.


They didn’t say, ‘Where is YHWH who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, through a land that no one passed through, and where no man lived?’


I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me; for now, Ephraim, you have played the prostitute. Israel is defiled.


I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw y’all’s ancestors as the first fruit of the fig tree at its first season. But they came to Baal Peor, and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and became detestable like the thing they loved.


YHWH is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and ʜᴇ knows those who take refuge in ʜɪᴍ.


But anyone who loves God is known by him.


But now that y’all have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do y’all turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles? Do y’all want to be in bondage all over again?


For YHWH your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has known your walking through this great wilderness. These forty years, YHWH your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing.


Hᴇ found him in a desert land, in the waste howling wilderness. Hᴇ surrounded him. Hᴇ cared for him. Hᴇ kept him as the apple of his eye.


Hᴇ led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with venomous snakes and scorpions, and thirsty ground where there was no water. Hᴇ poured water for you out of the rock of flint,
