They took Joseph’s tunic, and killed a male goat, and dipped the tunic in the blood.


All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. He said, “For I will go down to Sheol to my son, mourning.” His father wept for him.


They came to Jacob their father, to the land of Canaan, and told him all that had happened to them, saying,


Jacob, their father, said to them, “Y’all have bereaved me of my children! Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and y’all want to take Benjamin away. All these things are against me.”


He said, “My son must not go down with y’all; for his brother is dead, and he only is left. If harm happens to him along the way in which y’all go, then y’all will bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol.”


One went out from me, and I said, “He has been torn-torn to pieces,” and I haven’t seen him since.


They went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan, to Jacob their father.


Israel said to Joseph, “I didn’t think I would see your face, and now, God has let me see your offspring also.”


I smiled on them when they had no confidence. They didn’t reject the light of my face.


If I had called and ʜᴇ had answered me, I wouldn’t believe that ʜᴇ listened to my voice.


He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all of his possessions,


When YHWH brought back those who returned to Zion, we were like those who dream.


“When my soul fainted within me, I remembered YHWH. My prayer came in to you, to your holy temple.


But these words seemed like nonsense to them, and they didn’t believe them.


saying, “It’s true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon!”


While they were still marveling and in disbelief because of their joy, he said to them, “Do y’all have anything to eat here?”
