He sent portions to them from before him, but Benjamin’s portion was five times as much as any of theirs. They drank and were merry with him.


He sent the following to his father: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and provision for his father by the way.


The king of Syria said, “Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” He departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of clothing.


They were each given a long white robe. They were told that they should rest for a short time, until the full number was reached of their fellow slaves and their siblings who were going to be killed as they had been.


Samson said to them, “Now let me tell y’all a riddle. If y’all can tell me the answer within the seven days of the feast, and y’all find it out, then I will give y’all thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothing.


The Spirit of YHWH came mightily on him, and he went down to Ashkelon and struck thirty men of them. He took their plunder, then gave the changes of clothing to those who declared the riddle. His anger burned, and he went up to his father’s house.
