He said to him, “Very well, I have granted your request too, and I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken.


To the woman ʜᴇ said, “I will increase-increase your pain in childbirth. In pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your man, yet he will rule over you.”


All this, O king, does Araunah give to the king.” Araunah said to the king, “May YHWH your God accept you.”


He went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead, and the Syrians wounded Joram.


If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away. Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.


Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast, and will not fear,


as I was in my prime, when the friendship of God was in my tent,


Now therefore, y’all take seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering. My servant Job will pray for y’all, for I will accept him, so that I not deal with y’all according to your* folly. For y’all have not spoken truth about me, as my servant Job has.”


To be partial to the faces of the wicked is not good, nor to deprive the innocent of justice.


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination— how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind!


Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, ‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says YHWH, ‘I will not look in anger on y’all, for I am merciful,’ says YHWH. ‘I will not stay angry forever.


To what purpose does frankincense from Sheba come to me, and the sweet cane from a far country? Y’all’s burnt offerings are not acceptable, and y’all’s sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”


Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever, because he delights in lovingkindness.


“Oh that there were one of y’all who would shut the temple doors, so that y’all would not uselessly kindle fire on my altar! I am not pleased with y’all,” says YHWH Almighty, “nor will I accept an offering from your* hand.


Y’all say also, ‘See, what a hardship it is!’ as y’all sniff at it disdainfully”, says YHWH Almighty. “Y’all bring stolen, lame, and sick animals—y’all bring this as a sacrifice! Should I accept this from your* hand?” says YHWH.


When y’all offer blind animals for sacrifice, isn’t that evil? And when y’all offer lame and sick animals, isn’t that evil? Try offering that to your governor! Will he be pleased with you or show you favor?” says YHWH Almighty.


“But if y’all will not do so, then look, y’all have sinned against YHWH. And y’all must know that y’all’s sin will find y’all out.


but in every ethnic group the one who fears ʜɪᴍ and does what is right is acceptable to ʜɪᴍ.


Therefore I urge y’all, siblings, by the mercies of God, to present y’all’s bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your* proper sacred service.


for anyone who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by humans.


that I should be a servant of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, serving as a priest of the gospel of God, so that the offering up of the ethnic groups might be made acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.


Therefore y’all must not allow sin reign in your* mortal body which leads to obeying its desires.


Don’t y’all know that when you* present yourselves* as slaves and obey someone, y’all are the slaves of the one whom you* obey, whether of sin that leads to death, or of obedience that leads to righteousness?


to the praise of the glory of ʜɪꜱ grace, by which ʜᴇ freely gave us favor in the Beloved.


But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety toward their own family and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.


By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, and through this he was approved as righteous, because God approved his gifts. And through faith he still speaks, though he is dead.


Then the desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and the sin, when it is fully grown, produces death.


y’all also, as living stones, are being built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
