He said, “Look, it is still the middle of the day. It is not time to gather the livestock together. Y’all should water the sheep and take them to feed.”


He said to him, “Go now and see whether things are well with your brothers, and with the flock. Then bring back word to me.” So he sent him out of the valley of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.


He asked them of their welfare, and said, “Is y’all’s father well, the old man of whom y’all spoke? Is he yet alive?”


Joab said to Amasa, “Is it well with you, my brother?” Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.
