Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field, and hunt some wild game for me.


The time came near that Israel must die, and he called his son Joseph, and said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please don’t bury me in Egypt,


Israel said to Joseph, “I am about to die, but God will be with y’all, and bring y’all again to the land of your* fathers.


Don’t boast about tomorrow; for you don’t know what a day may bring.


Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going.


In those days Hezekiah became sick and was near death. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, “YHWH says, ‘Set your house in order, for you will die, and not live.’”


and said, “Please YHWH, remember how I have walked before you in truth and with a whole heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.” Then Hezekiah wept bitterly.


Y’all, therefore, must keep watch, for you don’t know when the lord of the house is coming—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning;


Yet y’all don’t know what will happen tomorrow. For what is y’all’s life? Y’all are a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.


David swore moreover, and said, “Your father knows-knows that I have found favor in your eyes, and he says, ‘Don’t let Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved.’ Yet truly as YHWH lives and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.”
