He said, “My the Lord not be angry, and I will speak. What if there are thirty found there?” He said, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”


He said, “See now, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord. What if there are twenty found there?” He said, “I will not destroy it for the twenty’s sake.”


Then Judah came near to him, and said, “Oh, my lord, please let your servant speak a word in my lord’s ears, and don’t let your anger burn against your servant for you are even as Pharaoh.


“If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him,


For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, abundant in lovingkindness to all those who call on you.


So YHWH turned away from the evil which ʜᴇ said ʜᴇ would do to ʜɪꜱ people.


The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to YHWH, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.


YHWH says, “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Don’t destroy it, for a blessing is in it:’ so I will do for my servants’ sake, that I may not destroy them all.


“Y’all are to go back and forth through the streets of Jerusalem, and investigate, consider, and search all its wide places. If y’all can find one person, if there is anyone who does justice and seeks truth, then I will pardon her.


Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever, because he delights in lovingkindness.


“If y’all ask, it will be given y’all. If y’all seek, y’all will find. If y’all knock, it will be opened for y’all.


Now to ʜɪᴍ who is able to do superabundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,


Gideon said to God, “Don’t let your anger be kindled against me. I will speak but once more. Please let me make a trial just this once with the fleece. Let it now be dry only on the fleece, and on all the ground let there be dew.”
