Therefore the well was called Beer Lahai Roi. It is between Kadesh and Bered.


Abraham traveled from there toward the land of the South, and lived between Kadesh and Shur. He lived as a foreigner in Gerar.


Timna was concubine to Eliphaz, Esau’s son; and she bore to Eliphaz Amalek. These are the descendants of Adah, Esau’s wife.


chief Korah, chief Gatam, chief Amalek. These are the chiefs who came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Adah.


Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. They are already in Hazazon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi).


It will happen that fishermen will stand by it. From En Gedi even to En Eglaim will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be after their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many.


“By the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border will be even from Tamar to the waters of Meribath Kadesh, to the brook, to the great sea.


They went and came to Moses, to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them and to all the congregation. They showed them the fruit of the land.


For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before y’all, and y’all will fall by the sword because y’all turned back from following YHWH. Therefore YHWH will not be with y’all.”


Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites who lived in that mountain, and struck them and beat them down even to Hormah.


The children of Israel, even the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month. The people stayed in Kadesh. Miriam died and was buried there.


He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations, but his future is destruction.”


We traveled from Horeb and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which y’all saw, by the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as YHWH our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh Barnea.


So y’all stayed in Kadesh many days, for those days y’all stayed.
